The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, Concord, New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance works to protect historic buildings and places. Before contacting me, the NHPA had a decaying website that contained numerous broken page links and was built on the somewhat outdated Joomla platform. Updates to the site were challenging for the staff.

Means-of-Production was invited to make a presentation to the organizations marketing committee to discuss the advantages of using the Squarespace, website builder. Shortly after they engaged me to build a new site that had large banner images, a directory of paid membership companies and to take donations, event fees, and dues payments online. The build of this website was timed so that the site launched just before a sizable three-day event in which they were expecting more than three thousand attendees daily. While the website was being built, my team ran a Facebook campaign to promote the event. Rather than link to the old site, a Squarespace Cover Page was designed that contained links to Eventbrite for ticketing as well as additional pages for further information. At the event, staff members were able to check in ticket holders quickly and take payment from unregistered attendees using iPads. This website contained approximately two-hundred pages and was launched in eight weeks.
